My New Orthotics From PC Pedorthics : How long does my new custom foot orthotics last?

    Back

There are several variables that contribute to the life expectancy of a pair of orthotics. Frequency of wear, how much impact activity you do, material make-up and exposure to the elements, all play a role in the area of “wear and tear”. Considering all these factors, most devices need to be replaced every two to three years (sooner if the orthotics are constructed out of soft / shock absorbing materials). Some individuals will wait until their original symptoms reappear. This becomes a philosophical issue whereby some people tend to be pro-active, while others are re-active.
