Consultation
Although the overall success of an orthotic device hinges on the accuracy of the mold and quality of the product, a clear understanding of how your legs and feet function is critical. Diagnosis or clinical assessments via the utility of machines, computers or pressure sensitive pads are unreliable. Before any orthotic can be created, a careful “hands-on” examination of your feet is imperative. There is no replacement for sound clinical assessment and expertise.
During an initial consultation the following areas are thoroughly evaluated:
- History of Injury(s) and their causes.
-
Range of joint(s) movement and condition of injury.
-
Body alignment.
-
Flexibility and muscle imbalances.
-
Weight distribution and gait abnormalities.
-
Footwear and previous orthotics review.
-
Training programs and techniques.
